35 Minute Sheet Pan Meal for Dinner
Picture this: It’s a weekday and you’re pretty tired from work, but still want a warm, homemade meal. Maybe you’re also running around to kid sports or evening meetings, or just don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking (dinner almost never takes me more than 45 minutes to put together!)
Enter this Broccoli Chicken Teriyaki sheet pan meal! It’s seriously so delicious, satisfying and filling. Did I mention it only takes about 35 minutes to make? This could even be less if you use a premade teriyaki sauce/marinade.
Ingredients in Broccoli Chicken Teriyaki
Chicken Breast: Just pat to remove extra moisture, cube, and they’re ready to be added to the sheet pan!
Broccoli Florets: I love using the bags of pre-cut, pre-washed florets. It makes this sheet pan meal even easier.
Teriyaki Sauce: We have 2 options here with using a pre-made teriyaki sauce or making your own at home. If you get store bought, opt for a thicker, marinade option.
Toppings: Extra sesame seeds, sauce, and green onion? Yes please!
Rice: This isn’t in the recipe, but made separately, can be a delicious grain base for the Broccoli Chicken Teriyaki. We need our carbs, guys!
Should I Use Homemade or Premade Teriyaki Sauce
Honestly, I say do whatever you prefer and/or is easier for you! If you have the premade marinade on hand, it can make things pretty simple. Sometimes I don’t, but I have the ingredients to make it. It is somewhat simple to throw together, but sometimes a few more steps is a no-go. I get it!
Intuitive Eating Reminders
- Sauce and condiments can help with the absorption of nutrients and satisfaction in the meal!
- Considering convenience in a meal (like using the premade teriyaki sauce) is part of what helps cooking at home be sustainable long-term!
- When a recipe doesn’t have a carb/grain source included, let’s add to it. In this case, we talked about adding rice!
