A Simple (Yet Delicious) Side Dish
If you have trouble getting roasted potatoes perfect in the oven (or just don’t have the time), using an air fryer is life changing. The final produce is perfect, crispy browned potatoes and what more could we want?
I love using the air fryer too, because the potatoes can be roasting in there while we’re baking the salmon or chicken for example in the oven at a different temperature. The air fryer grill combo I use isn’t on Amazon anymore, but here is a similar one.
Ingredients in Air Fryer Red Potatoes
Red Potatoes: You can make this recipe with any potato, but the red potatoes have a thin, sweeter skin and better retain the shape when you cook!
Oil: Essential for this recipe! Use olive oil or a neutral oil.
Salt: Can’t forget the salt here
Garlic Powder: This is technically optional, but I love the hint of garlic
Dried Rosemary: I think the rosemary absolutory ties the recipe together and adds an extra elevated flavor. You can make without (but don’t skip if you love rosemary!)
How to Use Them in a Meal
Just like a new word doesn’t make sense until we put it in a sentence, a new recipe is great and all but how do we actually use these Air Fryer Red Potatoes in a meal?
The “Traditional” Dinner
If we’re using the potatoes as a side dish, we’ll want to think about adding a main dish (and possibly another side) that add some protein and fiber. Here are some examples of what to include in addition to the Air Fryer Red Potatoes.
- Salmon + Side Salad (this Chimichurri Salmon recipe would be a great choice!)
- Bruschetta Chicken + Balsamic Glaze Brussels Sprouts
- Chicken Sausage + Roasted Veggies (bell pepper, onion, zucchini)
Use For Breakfast
You didn’t think we were limiting ourselves to just dinner here did ya? Some ideas for what to add to the Air Fryer Red Potatoes for breakfast:
- Scrambled eggs + fruit
- Breakfast sandwich
- Make it a burrito! Add a tortilla with eggs, sausage, spinach and the potatoes inside. Salsa, sour cream, avocado, or whatever else your heart desires.
Diner Style
We can also pair it with a burger for a fun twist on a crispy potato side (I have nothing against regular fries btw!)
Can I Prep Ahead of Time?
While these potatoes are best eaten fresh from the air fryer, they can be prepped ahead and reheated. I love making a bigger batch for dinner, then using leftovers for the breakfast burrito I mentioned above.
To do this, just preheat the air fryer to about 400 and air fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they are heated through and slightly crisp on the outside.
