I will be so excited to get to meet you and chat with you more! We will discuss your medical background, your relationship with food & body, and the barriers you are facing. We will discuss what a typical day looks like for eating as far as foods you choose and schedule. We will also discuss your main goals for working together and our plan moving forward with treatment with your needs and preferences as a priority.

I use a weight neutral approach, meaning the goal is not to intentionally gain or lose weight.  We will instead focus on specific behaviors for our goals. This could be anything from increasing vegetable intake, incorporating more movement, reducing binge eating, etc…

I find when we focus more on how to improve measures for your medical condition rather than “just losing weight” it enables us to use our efforts where it really matters whether that’s improving A1c, decreasing cholesterol, improving other labs or symptoms you experience. I’ve helped countless people improve health in a concrete way without tracking weight.

In this first appointment we will discuss your medical background, get an in-depth assessment on your relationship with food & body, make some short term goals to work on until we meet again, and make a game plan to achieve your overarching goals!
